PIMS was developed using the Three-Tier web application architecture. The technical architecture can be described in the figure below. PIMS runs on the Microsoft windows 2003 server with SQL server 2000 platform. The client application uses the standard Microsoft internet explorer browser. This architecture was chosen to support a centralized data repository with multiple location and remote user via the internet. The advantage of this architecture is that it provides high performance and flexible configuration across your enterprise. It serves as a low cost solution for the small company to a complete solution for a large enterprise.
